Ingredients:
- 4 (6 oz / 170g) salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
- 1/3 cup (110ml) honey
- 2 tbsp (30ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves (15g) garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers. Place salmon in the pan (skin-side down if applicable), pressing down lightly with a spatula for 10 seconds.
- Sear for 3-5 minutes without moving the fillets until a golden-brown crust forms. Flip and sear for another 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium. Push the salmon to one side of the pan and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes as the sauce bubbles and thickens into a syrupy consistency.
- Spoon the glaze over the salmon continuously until the fish is coated and the sauce is velvety.
