4 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
8 cups water (divided)
4 black tea bags
¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Ice cubes
Fresh mint or peach slices for garnish (optional)
In a saucepan, combine 4 cups of water and the sliced peaches. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Mash peaches slightly and remove from heat. Let steep for 10 more minutes.
Strain the peach mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher, pressing to extract juice.
Meanwhile, steep tea bags in 4 cups of hot water for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags.
Add the tea to the peach juice along with sugar and lemon juice. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Serve over ice with optional mint or peach slice garnish.
