Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and hot
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) baking powder
- 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the hot melted butter and granulated sugar.
- Add the room temperature eggs and vanilla extract; whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes until the batter is smooth and lightens in color.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold the dry ingredients gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set but the center has a slight jiggle.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan, then refrigerate for 2 hours before slicing into 16 squares.
