Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) milk
  • 1/4 tsp (1ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch (0.5g) fine salt
  • 6 tbsp (45g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp (30g) mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Place the all-purpose flour in a microwave-safe dish. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the flour reaches 160°F (71°C) or smells faintly nutty. Let it cool for 2 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar. Stir vigorously until the mixture is pale, fluffy, and the sugar crystals have mostly dissolved into the fat.
  3. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold in the heat-treated flour, stirring until no white streaks remain.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
