Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beaten egg, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, dried oregano, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Stir together to ensure seasonings are evenly distributed.
  3. Add the ground turkey and breadcrumbs to the bowl. Mix with a fork or hands until just combined; do not overwork the meat to ensure tenderness.
  4. Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and have a caramelized, golden-brown exterior.
