Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) baking powder
  • 0.5g salt
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) whole milk
  • 1 tbsp (14g) melted unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp (1ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp (15g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt directly in the mug until no large cocoa clumps remain.
  2. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir gently with a fork until the batter is smooth and glossy, stopping as soon as flour streaks vanish.
  3. Push the chocolate chips into the center of the batter without stirring them in to create a molten pocket.
  4. Microwave on high for 60 seconds until the top looks set but slightly shiny in the center.
  5. Let the mug sit undisturbed for 2 minutes to allow residual heat to finish the cook.
