Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp (30g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp (8g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch (0.5g) salt
  • 1 large (50g) egg
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp (25g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp (35g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a microwave safe mug (minimum 12 oz) for 20 seconds. Note: Be careful not to let it boil over
  2. Stir in the granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt until a smooth, dark chocolate paste forms.
  3. Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract vigorously until the batter is glossy and uniform.
  4. Gently fold in the all purpose flour until just combined. Note: Stop as soon as white streaks disappear to avoid a rubbery texture
  5. Fold in the semi sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Microwave on high for 60 seconds until the brownie is puffed and mostly set.
  7. Let the brownie sit undisturbed for 1 minute to allow the center to set.
