Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Brownie Layer:
    • 1 box of brownie mix (or 4 cups homemade brownie chunks)
  • For the Peanut Butter Mousse:
    • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • For the Fudge Sauce:
    • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • ½ cup heavy cream
  • For the Whipped Cream Topping:
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For Garnish:
    • Mini peanut butter cups
    • Crushed peanuts
    • Chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Brownie Layer:
    • Bake the brownies according to package instructions or your homemade recipe. Let cool completely and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Make the Peanut Butter Mousse:
    • In a large bowl, beat the peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until light and fluffy.
  • Prepare the Fudge Sauce:
    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until simmering. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  • Assemble the Trifle:
    • In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, layer half of the brownie chunks at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of peanut butter mousse, then drizzle with fudge sauce.
    • Repeat the layers until the dish is filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with mini peanut butter cups, crushed peanuts, and chocolate shavings. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the layers set.

Notes

  • For an extra chocolatey touch, add a layer of chocolate pudding between the brownie and peanut butter mousse layers.
  • This trifle can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
