Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne or pasta of choice

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant.

  3. Add tomato sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in heavy cream and cook for 2–3 minutes until combined.

  5. Add Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.

  6. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce and mix until coated.

  7. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.

Notes

You can add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein. Substitute cream with coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
