  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, cubed

  • 8 large eggs

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Add cubed bread evenly across the dish.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

  • Pour the custard mixture over the bread, pressing gently to soak. Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the topping. Cut in butter until crumbly.

  • Sprinkle topping over casserole.

  • Bake for 45–50 minutes or until golden and set.

 

  • Let cool slightly before serving.
