  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, green onions, or bacon bits

Instructions

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pot, melt the butter and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over the sautéed onions and garlic, stirring to create a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the chicken or beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Add the diced potatoes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and cooked ground beef. Let simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Serve warm with optional toppings like shredded cheese, green onions, or crispy bacon bits.
