  • 12 oz ditalini pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the ditalini pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the sausage to the skillet and mix into the sauce. Add the cooked ditalini pasta and toss until fully coated.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
