This Classic Pea Salad With Bacon recipe is a creamy, flavorful side dish made with sweet green peas, crispy bacon, red onion, and cheddar cheese. It's quick to prepare and a hit at potlucks, BBQs, and family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen green peas, thawed

  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely diced

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the thawed peas, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar, and red onion.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.

  3. Pour dressing over the salad and toss to combine evenly.

  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute sour cream for half of the mayo for a tangier flavor.

  • Make ahead and store in fridge for up to 2 days.
