Cheesy Ground Beef and Potatoes is a hearty and delicious one-pan recipe combining seasoned ground beef, soft potatoes, and gooey melted cheese. Perfect for a family-friendly dinner, this easy casserole-style dish is both satisfying and simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
  • Repeat with another layer of potatoes and the remaining ground beef mixture.
  • Pour beef broth evenly over the casserole. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Add vegetables like diced bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For crispier potatoes, broil the dish for 2-3 minutes after baking.
