Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup maple syrup
3 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add half of the browned butter and mix until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan to form the crust.
Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, until golden.
In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, and remaining brown butter until smooth.
Stir in chopped pecans and pour the filling over the baked crust.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden.
Cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
For extra flavor, use a combination of maple syrup and honey.
These bars can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
