  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 large potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and milk.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then pour half of the soup mixture on top. Sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, soup, and cheese.
  • Dot the top with butter and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 60 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving (optional).

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
